Mooserific!

Thank goodness it was just a normal childhood virus. Having to wait six days for a result after six months of a global pandemic is ridiculous though!

The girls were so excited about their first day back at school! The only thing Abby didn’t like was “no real learning or homework.”

Nisbett is a new favorite park!

Our third visit this summer was the best so far! Lots of firsts: Josie rode The Bat and Banshee for the first time, Gwen and Josie braved Drop Tower, all four girls experienced Congo Falls, and Nora enjoyed her first trip on Whitewater Canyon.

We said good-bye to our sweet, sometimes elusive Betta cat today after nineteen long years of life. The girls liked to joke that she was our “super senior” cat, and that she was. She will be missed.

Today felt like a vacation! We went kayaking (five miles!) for the first time, and the girls loved it! Josie and Gwen took to it right away. Gwen initially freaked out about the “rapids” but eventually came around and even helped us get unstuck from a rapid by the end of our adventure.

Like Clara around her age, Abby liked riding along the Little Miami Bike Trail.

Such a fun day! We all expect a call from Timmy tomorrow to tell us how we never visit (ie he misses us). Gwen and Timmy played, and swam together a ton. Timmy can now jump in the pool from the stairs. Gwen almost convinced him to jump off the diving board. Abby, Gwen, and Timmy giggled their little hearts out while I sprayed them on the trampoline. And little Nicky is a big Abby fan. She did such a good job with him; saw a glimpse of her future as a babysitter.

Grammy gave us this guitar, John replaced three strings, and Josie played us a song.

Quite the experience today! I was extremely anxious, but it was not crowded and KI did a good job with distancing and other safety measures. The girls had lots of fun! Josie rode a bunch of coasters outside Snoopy land (including Mystic Timbers). They loved Whitewater Canyon. Very hot, and wearing a mask all day was not fun, but overall a good time.

Timmy called us in tears on Saturday wondering why “we never came to visit him.” So we invited them over for a swim on Monday. He left a happy boy!

Fourth of July festivities were different this year, but still fun! We loved watching the fireworks poolside with family, swimming at our pool on the fourth, and watching our neighbors’ fireworks show too.

This little kitten has just inserted himself right into our family. He just wants to be with us at all times. He sleeps with us, meows at the door when we go to the bathroom without him, sits with us during family movie time, and now even helps John with puzzles.

Life is good, even in coronavirus times.
