Three girls, three painting personalities… I brought out two pieces of paper for each girl. Josie was so busy mixing paint colors on her plate that she barely used one sheet. Gwen used one sheet too, but only because she was focused and determined to perfect her masterpiece. Abby, on the other hand, happily snatched up the spare paper. She needed to paint pictures for everyone!
Thirty plus minutes of painting was pretty good for little ones. If it had kept them occupied longer, I would have given them all the paper they wanted! 😉

Abby played Pieces all by herself for about 30 minutes, solving a ton of puzzles. I’m both a proud papa and a proud app developer.

We’re loving our new house and neighborhood! The girls and I took a short walk this morning down to the Kenwood Hills Cabana Club to check out the pool and playground area. It’s a super short walk from our house, but feels miles away back in the woods. The girls greatly enjoyed swinging, playing on the play structure, and collecting landscaping pebbles from the picnic area. I can’t wait to take them swimming there next summer!

Amelia and Ron are married! They had a wonderful wedding at Lake Hope. We were all too busy having fun to take any really good pictures though. Lucky for us there was a photographer! More and better pictures coming soon. (Pictures: after the ceremony; rehearsal dinner; an enthusiastic rocking Gwen; outside our cabin; top bunk jumpers; silliness after lunch on the road).

While the cookies baked, the girls relished licking the leftover sprinkles off of the baking pan. Abby later declared “these are the best sprinkle cookies ever!”

Thank you
How many 22 month olds do you know who say “thank you, Papa” as they’re being cleaned up after vomiting?
Poor Josie got sick tonight and thanked me and John for cleaning up. It was a pleasant moment in what was a sad end to the day. She may not have been feeling well, but she still had her manners and was so very thoughtful. What a nice girl!

We had a great time at the Red Stewart Airfield Airshow, even though we spent it huddled under the wing of an Aeronca Champ and got soaked on our way back to the car. We’ll hope for better weather next year!

They understand the concept
Yesterday, Josie and Gwen both noticed the baby monitor laying out within their reach. They both made a mad dash to it. Josie looked Gwen in the face, and with a very serious voice, said “share Gwenny!”
This morning, while I made breakfast, I realized it was awfully quiet. “Gwen and Josie, what are you doing?” Josie responded “sharing!” They were, in fact, sharing, but up to no good.

The girls and I visited yet another park this morning - Harbin Park in Fairfield. Their favorite part was definitely the swings.
